Saif Ali Khan’s last film Happy Ending might not have done great, but this time, he feels quite positive about his upcoming film, directed by Kabir Khan, Phantom.
Yet another action film?
I wanted to do another action flick simply because my earlier film Agent Vinod was something that I wanted, and Phantom is what Kabir Khan wanted. When I read the story I loved the script and Kabir was someone I wanted to work with, so I couldn’t refuse the film. Also working with Katrina was great. In our first film together, Race, she was pretty new. But, she has handled her career very beautifully and has done really well for herself.
Risky action stunts
Anything can happen while we’re doing these stunts. I just think we are lucky that something hasn’t happened so far. However, the situation is much better than it used to be. But if I die, I will just be glad that I have good insurance (laughs). I never think about my family while performing action sequences. I am selfish, I only think about myself.
Life other than films
My parents taught me that their lives weren’t only about films. It’s nice to party once in a while and meet people from the industry. But you also need to meet normal people and discuss art and literature. That’s the real world.
Handling a bad day
Sometimes I get cranky, irritated or feel ungrateful and unsatisfied with life. On such days I go to the gym. I think a diet and good exercise brings me back to being normal.
Kareena, his lucky mascot?
More than luck, I think Kareena has brought a lot of happiness in my life. Also, we would love to work together but so far we haven’t been offered anything great.
A film with Kunal Khemu?
I am planning something for myself first. But, let me first get time to breathe!
