Five Kerala officers chosen for President’s police medals

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Five police officers from the state have been selected for police medals announced in connection with Independence Day.
Kottayam district police chief M. P. Dinesh has been selected for the President's police medal for distinguished service. DIG Intelligence P. Vijayan, Rapid Response and Rescue Force commandant A. V. George, DySP S. Sasidharan, who is now on deputation to a UN mission, and Thiruvananthapuram city special branch assistant commissioner Reji Jacob have been selected for police medals for meritorious service.

Fireman Chithendran who died during a rescue operation during floods in Pampa in 2013 has been selected for the President's fire service medal for gallantry.
Kerala Fire and Rescue Services Academy director E. B. Prasad and driver mechanic in fire service A. T. George have been selected for fire service medals for meritorious service.
