Indo-US joint military training exercise next month
This will be the eleventh exercise in 'Yudh Abhyas' series that started in 2004
New Delhi: The Indo-US Combined Military Training Exercise will be held from September 9 to 23 at the Joint Base Lewis McChord in the US aimed at strengthening and broadening interoperability and cooperation between the two armies.
The exercise will bring together troops of an infantry sub unit and a formation headquarter of Indian army and similar participation from the US Army for the joint training.
This will be the eleventh exercise in 'Yudh Abhyas' series that started in 2004 under US Army Pacific partnership programme.
The exercise will strengthen and broaden interoperability and cooperation between both the Armies and complement a number of other exchanges between the two forces, an Army statement here said.
Over the years, the two countries have decided to progressively increase the scope and content of the combined training.
The exercise will provide an ideal platform for the personnel of the two countries to share their experiences on military operations in urban terrain under the UN mandate.
Commanders and Staff Officers of both sides will work in close coordination to receive and collate intelligence and to issue suitable operational orders to the combined field training components, who in turn will execute these orders on ground.
