As Onam nears, there will be enhanced vigil at all entry points to the city. Tamil Nadu police’s held would be sought to track habitual offenders from those regions entering the city to ‘cash in’ on the onam rush.

The city police commissioner also advised city residents who went on long journeys to inform nearby police stations.“We will enhance patrolling in all residential areas,” said Mr. Venkatesh.
