New Delhi: Congress leader Manish Tewari on Sunday called for the cancellation of NSA level talks between India and Pakistan scheduled to take place on August 23-24.

Tewari insisted that the BJP led-NDA Government should cut off all the contacts with Pakistan till the time ceasefire violations continue to take place across the border.

Well it is very unfortunate and extremely tragic. It seems that the Pakistan armed forces, are unfortunately, giving a 21-gun salute to the manner in which the BJP government compromised the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India in UFA. The fact remains that Pakistan has been sponsoring terrorism from across the border with impunity, Tewari told ANI.

The Government of India must immediately call off the NSA level talks. There should be no contacts with Pakistan till the time this brutality, this outrage does not cease, he added.

Earlier, Pakistani troops resorted to yet another ceasefire violation in Balakote region of Poonch distict of Jammu and Kashmir.

Six civilians were killed and 15 other were injured as per latest reports.

Heavy mortar shelling is going on the area and the villagers residing in the border areas are being vacated by the army.

The firing which was reported to have stopped after 7 pm yesterday evening, but again started at 12 am and has not stopped since then.
