Supermodel Ujjwala Raut recently shot for some episodes of India’s Next Top Model. She has taken on the mantle of a judge on the show. We caught up with the stunning head-turner for a chat. Excerpts:

Q You have been away from India for a while. Is this a comeback for you?
I have not really been away. It’s just that I have been busy doing assignments in New York, London and Paris. But I have also been around in India. I hosted the Kingfisher Calendar Hunt, I was showstopper at a few fashion weeks, I have also been doing magazine shoots. Now I plan to work more in India as I miss being at home, close to my family. So yes, in a way you can say that India’s Next Top Model is a comeback in India for me.

Q How do you think the modelling scene is changing over the years?
My modelling experience has been extremely interesting. This industry is all about the glamour and if you are truly talented, then you have a chance of working with the biggest names in fashion the world over. Fashion evolves and revolves constantly. It keeps going in a circle, but there is always a demand for a face, attitude and confidence — that someone can carry without going out of fashion.

Q Your sister Sonali is now pursuing a career in Bollywood and reality television…
My little sister Sonali has grown up to be strong, beautiful and smart. She is definitely enjoying her success after Bigg Boss. Sonali was and is the same person who the world saw in Bigg Boss. She loves acting and she is on the right path to pursue it. She signed up with a great agency and completed shooting for a film last month, but I cannot talk about it, as per her contract. She does ask me for guidance sometimes and I am always happy to help her.
