Following the phenomenal success of the digital revolution, and subsequent restoration of the Sivaji-starrer Karnan, which ran for more than 100 days when rereleased a few years ago, many more classics of the thespian including Pudhiya Paravai, Thiruvilayadal have followed suit.

Here comes Veerapandiya Kattabomman, yet another cult classic which is to hit the screens this Friday alongside of some of the commercial films like Jigina. The makers, Srinivasulu and Murali of Sai Ganesh Films, who are releasing the digitalised version are confident that Veerapandiya… would be a blockbuster hit.

Speaking to DC, Murali says, “We are releasing in around 100 screens in Tamil Nadu, and expectations are high. We have enormous support from iconic Sivaji sir’s fans. We got good theatres and the film has been digitalised, given colour correction, grading and converted to cinema scope from 35 mm with 5.1 surround sound.” He also revealed that the original run time of 3 hours 15 minutes has been reduced to a shade above the 2 hour 50 minute mark.
