KARIMNAGAR: Finance and civil supplies minister Etela Rajender sought residents of Kandugula to make the village a model one in the district by involving in every development programme and following certain steps.
He was addressing a gathering after formally launching Grama Jyothi programme at Kandugula of Huzurabad mandal on Monday. Mr Rajender emphasised on the importance of self-reliance and fulfilling one’s responsibilities. He tried to know major problems of the village by questioning its residents.
Later, he advised the locals to keep their surroundings clean in order to prevent incidence of seasonal epidemics. He suggested them to focus on collective problems rather than personal ones.
“The TRS-led government is committed to improve basic facilities and infrastructure of villages. But, the onus of executing developmental works is on public. For instance, government school of the village is equipped with talented teachers. People should utilise and strengthen the institution by sending their children to it,” the minister observed.
Further, Mr Rajender opined that a village sees growth only when its development committees function effectively. “Funds granted by the government can be utilised effectively when people have awareness,” he maintained.
