Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation orders 44 lakh dustbins

Hyderabad: In yet another fast move on the ‘Two bin policy’ which is to be implemented in the coming two months, The GHMC has completed the tender process for 44 lakh dustbins, each costing Rs 65.70 of 12 litres capacity.
The municipal corporation out of 17 companies have zeroed down on eight and have ordered the purchase of bins.
The corporation authorities claim that by finalising on Rs 65.70 per bin, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has saved 10 cores, which will be used to procure more dustbins.
The order will be tested by Central Institute of Plastic Engineering first. While the colors pink and blue are likely to be finalised.
Following the orders from the election commissioner, the state EC has ordered the GHMC to stop linking of aadhar card with voter-Id card.
However, the verification on duplicate voters, shifted voters and non eligible candidates will be carried out, informed the GHMC.
