Andhra Pradesh couple run over in Chennai

Chennai: In a case of hit and run, a couple from Andhra Pradesh was killed after a vehicle ran over them on Grand Southern Trunk (GST) road near Radhanagar traffic signal in Chromepet on Tuesday morning.

The couple had come to the city on Tuesday to invite relatives for their son’s wedding scheduled later this month, police said. The deceased couple was identified as B. Asirvadham, 60 and A. Kondammal, 54, of Chandrasekarapuram mandal in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

At around 5.30 am the accident took place. The couple suffered severe injuries on their heads, police said. However, it is not clear which vehicle hit them as there were no eyewitnesses, police said.
