Cop’s son was drunk, says Hyderabad Police

The incident occurred in the evening at Nizampet road, while the victim was crossing the road

Hyderabad: Police sent Savyasachi Singh, son of Govind Singh, additional DGP, Operations (Greyhounds and OCTOPUS) for a medical test after he hit a woman with his dad’s official car.
 
Savyasachi, a fourth year Engineering student in Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering, was returning home with a friend in the Mahindra Scorpio (Registration No. AP09PA0074).
 
The victim, Nagamani, a labourer, was given treatment in a local hospital. Doctors have informed police that her condition is stable.
 
The incident occurred in the evening at Nizampet road, while the victim was crossing the road. 
 
“He dashed into her while she was crossing the road. He was riding in a rash and negligent manner,” an official from KPHB police station said.
 
As the woman fell, the accused and his friend tried to escape. However, locals chased them down. Due to his erratic behaviour, police suspected that he was drunk while driving.
