New Delhi: The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) administration is soon expected to begin the assessment process of the entire batch of students from the 2008 in an effort to resolve and end the ongoing strike over TV actor Gajendra Chau-han’s appointment as chairman of the governing council of the institute.
Sources stated that the Academic Council of the Institute has repeatedly decided that the entire batch of 2008 will be assessed on as is where is basis. It is believed that the administration’s decision to conduct assessment of incomplete diploma film projects of the 2008 batch is expected to rid the campus of agitating students.
Sources stated that decision to assess the students was not a new one and repeated academic council meetings of the institute have already given approval for the same. “The 68th meeting of the academic council (held on September 7, 2013), the 69th meeting of the academic council (held on December 17, 2013) and the 70th meeting of the academic council (held on April 11, 2014) have already given the go ahead with the decision to conduct assessment,” sources said.
