Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who is engaged in re-designing and re-engineering irrigation projects in the state, proposed another barrage across Godavari river in Warangal district on Tuesday which will be below the Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme which is under operation at present. 
 
The Chief Minister who held a review meeting with irrigation  officials at his camp office on Tuesday and with the help of Google Earth, decided to take up the construction of a new barrage at Durgam Gutla site near Gangaram village in Warangal district. 
 
He asked officials to prepare Detailed Project Report for this barrage which may lift 22 TMC ft of Godavari water for drinking and irrigation needs. The CM had already directed the officials to go for a barrage at Medipally near Kaleswaram as part of re-designing Pranahita-Chevella scheme. 
 
Similarly he has also proposed Dummugudem lift scheme limitting to Telangana State.  Durgamgutla will be the third such new initiative by Chief Minister.
