Sanjay Leela Bhansali hosts lunch for descendants of Peshwa Bajirao on his 315th birthday

Mumbai: The cast and crew of Bajirao Mastani have been shooting at a breakneck speed to meet the pre-Christmas release deadline. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had organized a lavish lunch for the 12^th generation descendants of the warrior Bajirao Peshwa as it was his 315^th birth anniversary.

Though the team has been working on a tight schedule, SLB set aside one day to celebrate Bajirao’s birthday with members of royal family. He had interacted with them as a part of research for his period drama.

The descendants of the Peshwa lineage were welcomed with garlands and were given royal treatment. They praised Bhansali for the lavish set. Ranveer and Deepika had extensive chats with them. Reportedly, the team even gifted Pathani saris and shawls to each one of the family members.

Apparently, the Peshwa family has now invited the filmmaker and his cast for a special lunch at their place in Pune prior to the film’s release.
