New Delhi: Captured Pakistani terrorist Muhammad Naved has spilled more beans on Pakistan’s complicity and role of “state actors’’ leading up to the Udhampur terror attack — this time providing scientific evidence to the Indian agencies to confront Islamabad with his statement. His stunning disclosures that JuD chief and Lashkar patron Hafiz Saeed visited his terror training camp at Shawai Nallah and persons appearing to be Pakistan Army officers also visited the terror camp once in a while and gave them motivational speeches and training have given enough evidence to the NIA to build a strong case to pursue with Pakistan.

The disclosures come days ahead of the national security adviser level talks scheduled between India and Pakistan on August 23.

In his statement following a lie detector test conducted on Tuesday, Naved identified a list of terror training camps, which includes Lashkar’s Garhi Habibullah training camp in Manshera of its Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province. Naved is learnt to have confessed that he was also trained at LeT’s Baitul Muzahideen training camp at Shawai Nallah near Muzaffrabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Intelligence officials said both the camps are known to the Indian agencies and the fresh disclosures will nail Pakistan’s role in lending support to terror activities on its soil. Sources said quoting Naved that he had first undergone 21 days’ terror training at LeT camp at Gari Habibullah and later a three-month training at Sahwai Nallah camp at Makaziallah.

Naved disclosed his address in Pakistsn saying he belonged to Rafiq colony in Tokianwali of Ghulam Mohamadabad in Pakistan Punjab’s Faisalabad district and had sneaked into Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of June 6-7 along with three other LeT terrorists through Nuri post in Tanmarg. They were received by a militant called Ubaida, who handed over them to another LeT militant Abu Kasim.

Following disclosures made by Naved, the intelligence agencies swung into action and started working on the inputs.

On Wednesday, the Gujarat police nabbed two terror suspects from Jammu and Kashmir who were planning to enter Maharashtra through Tapi district, one of whom resembled the sketch of absconding accomplices of Naved issued by NIA on Tuesday.

The two were held at Songadh check-post on Gujarat- Maharashtra border in Tapi district of Gujarat by special operations group and handed over to the state Anti-Terrorism Squad.

“Two suspects who belong to Kashmir have been detained from Tapi District. Face and features of one of them are similar to a person in sketches of two suspects released by the NIA recently,” said the superintendent of police, Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad, Himanshu Shukla.

However, Shukla added, “So far there is nothing to say that they are terrorists. Till now we can say there is no material to say that they are involved in terrorist activities.”

The NIA on Tuesday issued sketches of two absconding accomplices of Naved Yakub who was captured after the Udhampur attack.
