Louis’ dad arrested for suicide bid

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson’s estranged dad has attempted suicide on Tuesday. Troy Austin was arrested by police in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, after officers allegedly discovered him apparently trying to kill himself in a car after drinking alcohol.

The 46-year-old, who split from the singer’s mother Johannah Poulston in 1997 when he was five, was arrested and taken to a police station, before pleading guilty at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court to failing to provide a specimen.

He will be sentenced next month. Relatives reported Austin missing after he allegedly fled in a friend’s car following an argument with his brother Dene Flanagan over a hotel they own, according to The Sun. Just days ago, Austin insisted that he wants to heal the rift between Louis and him.
