Four policemen suspended for helping HuJI
The Hyderabad police commissioner issued suspension orders following the SIT probe
Hyderabad: Three policemen from the Special Branch and another from Chandrayangutta were suspended on Thursday, for their alleged involvement in helping HuJI aides get passports.
Meanwhile, the court granted five day police custody of the six accused, who were arrested recently for further investigation.
The Hyderabad police commissioner issued suspension orders following the SIT probe.
The suspended cops are identified as Tajammul Ghori, Sheikh Qadri and Basheer Ahmed working in the Special Branch, while another cop Mohammed Ayoob is working in Chandrayangutta police station.
During investigation, officials found that these four cops were allegedly involved in helping the accused getting passports by unfair means.
“During investigation, we found that these cops have helped the accused to get passports by misusing their office,” said a senior official from the SIT.
Meanwhile, the court also granted five day police custody of the six accused for further investigation. “We did not get the order copy. We will take them into custody after we receive the copy tomorrow,” added the official.
Earlier, the police arrested six men, suspected to have links with HuJI, including Nasir a close aide of the HuJI founder Jabbar. Nasir helped the suspects to get Indian passports and travel abroad in the guise of looking for employment.
