Karnataka Lokayukta corruption case: Ayukta court rejects Riyaz bail plea
Judge V.G. Bopaiah rejected the bail to Riyaz on Thursday
Bengaluru: The Lokayukta Special Court has rejected the bail petition of Lokayukta Joint Commissioner (PRO) Syed Riyaz in connection with the complaint filed by KPCC Member and industrialist P N Krishnamurthy.
After hearing arguments from the defence counsel and the prosecution, Judge V.G. Bopaiah rejected the bail to Riyaz on Thursday. Meanwhile, the other accused in the case, Sadik, was remanded to judicial custody till September 2, as his police custody ended on Thursday.
Narasimhamurthy, another accused in the case who was working in the police chief office, has been suspended after the SIT arrested him.
Bangalore club case
The High Court on Thursday rejected the plea of the two advocates who had approached the high court pleading to be made parties in the matter by filing intervening applications claiming that the property in question is actually a part of defence estate and neither the state’s nor the Bangalore Club’s claim can be upheld.
