Actress Vedhika, who rose to fame with films like Paradesi and Kaaviya Thalaivan, has signed her next project Vinodhan, a psycho-emotional, dark flick. Directed by debutant Victor Jayaraj, the film is produced by renowned choreographer-actor Prabhu Deva. Speaking about how Vedhika was roped in for the film, Victor says that the team couldn’t have got a better heroine than her.
“I was impressed by Vedhika’s previous films and her acting skills gave me conviction to cast her. Since the film is based on a disorder that human beings suffer from, we wanted to conduct an acting workshop for the actress. She was happy to say ‘yes’ for it. We are going to have classes for five days for the hero, Vedhika and a friend’s character that plays an important role in the film,” says Victor.
Asked what the acting workshop would impart, Victor says the acting classes will focus on techniques in acting and the internalisation of characters, visualisation techniques, scene improvisation, method acting, character building, identification of references and resources for characterisation and understanding the dynamics, and quickly adds he’s super excited because of the ‘V’ factor in the film. “Including my name, hero’s name (Varun), heroine’s and the film’s name — all starts with alphabet ‘V’. And this is something nice and spooky,” he smiles.
