‘I will act in dad’s 150th’
Apart from producing Chiranjeevi’s film, Ram Charan confirms that he will be seen in it
Following the huge bash he threw for his megastar father’s 60th birthday, Ram Charan is now gung-ho about producing Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, which he will act in too. “We would’ve announced it on his birthday (about the film starring the two of them). But acquiring the remake rights has taken longer than we thought. It will be his 150th film. I’ll be producing the film,” says Ram Charan.
Though father and son will be seen together, Ram Charan won’t be taking centre stage with his father. “It will be his show all the way. I will be in the film, but will only play one of the principal characters. Dad will be the central character in an author-backed role.”
Talking about returning to Bollywood after his flop debut in Zanjeer two years ago, Ram Charan says, “I was definitely put off by Bollywood after that experience. In fact, now I even joke about it. At my father’s birthday I introduced my Zanjeer director Apoorva Lakhia as my only flop director.”
There were rumours of his returning to Hindi films with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro and Ram Charan admits that there were talks. “I admire his work and had met him for that film. But the talks didn’t go far enough. I am going to be doing another Hindi film soon,” Ram Charan says.
