BBMP polls: Rs 1.15 crore found from Congress candidate’s house
MCC team and Subramanyapura police on Tuesday raided the house of Varaprasad Reddy
BENGALURU: In a joint raid conducted by model code of conduct (MCC) team and Subramanyapura police on Tuesday raided the house of Varaprasad Reddy, the Congress candidate for Uttarahalli ward and found Rs 1.15 crore in cash from his house.
According to the police, the MCC team which went to his house few days ago based on information, but found the house locked. They later sealed the house and reported the matter to deputy commissioner of B'lore urban.
Based on his direction the MCC team armed with a search warrant went to the house on Tuesday evening and broke open the lock and conducted the search. The officials later filed a complaint with Subrananyapura police for further investigation. Varaprasad lost the election to Hanumantaiah of BJP.
