Bengaluru: "Will they ever behave?" “Fine, you have won, go make money but spare us!’’ “This city will never improve”…

The above were some of the comments made by infuriated motorists as they waited in their vehicles for the victory processions to pass by. Besides their supporters, none were happy to watch the newly- elected councilors parading past them, bursting crackers and beating drums.

Though section 144 was imposed at counting stations across the city, the minute results were declared, all the rules were thrown into the bin even as cops stood as mute spectators.

Supporters of various political parties gathered in front of the counting centers and shouted slogans and lit crackers. As results started pouring out, supporters went ahead with large processions, some on foot and many in open jeeps.

BJP’s  Gurumurthy Reddy from  HSR Layout celebrated his  victory by 6000 votes with his supporters thronging the locality and taking out a procession in a huge open jeep . Traffic was brought to a halt, while the police just looked on.

Rajeev C, a commuter said with irritation, “I have been waiting in this traffic jam for 20 minutes. This is really shameful.”

The situation was no different at other places. Traffic came to a stop in and around the areas of Jakkasandra as counting was going on in Seva Sadan for BTM Constituency. Here Congress had a good day and as supporters of Congress beat drums and erupted in huge celebrations, there was a traffic jam for a long time.
