Visakhapatnam: Inter girl murder mystery solved

Visakhapatnam: Nearly three weeks after the mysterious death of Intermediate student Surada Divyasree, the Narsipatam police on Wednesday solved the mystery and arrested two men. The girl was found burnt under mysterious circumstances near her home by her parents in Appannapalem village under Golugonda police station on August 4.

Divyasree was studying second year Intermediate (BiPC) at Rishi College in Narsipatnam. She did not attend classes on the day she was murdered.

The police arrested K. Mahesh, 28, of Lingapuram and V. Nanaji, 24, of Kothayellavaram in the district.

ASP (Narsipatnam) B.S. Yesubabu said the girl allegedly had an affair with both the youths.

Initially Nanaji, a carpenter and Mahesh, a farmer fought over the issue and later came to an understanding that she was playing a double game and decided to eliminate her.

On the fateful day, both of them accosted the girl and Nanaji had sexual intercourse with her. Mo-ments later the duo strangled her with a chunni.

After confirming her death, they brought out a kerosene can from her house, added petrol in the can from their motorcycles, burnt the body and fled. The girl's father S. Tata Rao, an auto driver and mother, who works in an apparel showroom in Narsipatnam saw their daughter in flames while returning home at about 9 pm.

Based on the complaint from parents, the police initially registered a case under Section 174 and began investigation. During the investigation, they found that both the youths were involved in her ghastly murder.
