BSF, rangers DGs to meet on 9th September
Both sides are expected to discuss the situation on LoC and the International Boundary
Islamabad: Days after the National Security Advisors talks were cancelled, Pakistan and India are set to continue their bilateral engagement with a possible meeting between the director-generals of Pakistan Rangers and the Indian Border Security Force on September 9 in New Delhi.
According to Pakistan Rangers, Punjab DG Rangers Umar Farooq Barki will hold talks with the Indian counterpart on September 9 and the process will continue till September 13.
The two sides are expected to discuss the situation on the Line of Control and the International Boundary between India and Pakistan. The talks also give the two sides a chance to get an understanding of each other’s attitudes at the military level.
The dialogue of the DGMOs, was another decision taken at the Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi meeting in Ufa. Sources said BSF and Pakistan Rangers have handed over to each other the agenda papers, in which both want to discuss the issue of ceasefire violations.
