With two back-to-back releases happening within six weeks, Kabir Khan is clearly the most exhausted filmmaker in the country. “I never treated Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Phantom as two films. Rather, it was like one big marathon from Bajrangi to Phantom since I was shooting them simultaneously. I didn’t allow myself to feel the pressure of two films,” says the director, adding that it was easier to shoot Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
“Phantom was certainly tougher. For one, there were so many different location changes. We shot in London, Vancouver, Beirut, Kashmir and Punjab. It was tough terrain all the way. Furthermore, there was a superstar like Salman in Bajrangi. So the audience was ensured. I didn’t have to worry about getting people into theatres,” he says.
Kabir is equally happy with both the films. “I wouldn’t change a single thing in either film. I’ve made them exactly the way I wanted to. This is the freedom that success gives you. Producers trust you and let you do what you want to do.”
