New Delhi: Even before the One-Rank-One-Pension controversy for the Armed forces dies down, Central paramilitary forces have begun to push for the same demand, saying though they are the first line of the nation’s defences, they feel they “have been left out”.

A senior official hit out, saying that “patriotism cannot be the monopoly of one particular force”. The government may be forced to sit up and give them a hearing sooner rather than later given that these troops battle terrorists, insurgents and Naxalites on a regular basis and play a crucial role in tackling disasters.

The CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB and CISF have a collective strength of nearly nine lakh serving and six lakh retired personnel.
