Hype around Puli increasing
The film also marks the comeback of yesteryear actress Sridevi
With producer Shoba Rani of SVR Media buying the Telugu distribution rights for a whopping Rs 12 crore, the Vijay, Hansika and Shruti Haasan starrer Puli is set to release here on October 1.
The film also marks the comeback of yesteryear actress Sridevi. “This is a fantasy film and after Baahubali, this is the most talked about film in the South. The film has already created a buzz on social media as it has crossed 60 lakh views,” says Sobha Rani.
The film’s budget is nearly Rs 125 crore and apart from lead actor Vijay, Kannada superstar Sudeep is also part of the film. Vijay is playing a double role.
The Chimbu Deven directed film is releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil on October 1.
“We will have a big music release function for Telugu. We are planning to rope in all the stars, including Sridevi, for the launch. The date is not yet finalized but it will be in the first half of September,” says Sobha Rani, adding that Sridevi will dub her own voice for the Telugu version.
“She is going to be one of the main attractions of the film. I am sure she will live up to expectations,” the producer adds.
