Mumbai: Mikhail Bora, who has claimed he is the deceased Sheena Bora’s brother, handed over some audio tapes, letters and other documents to the Khar police which he had kept as “evidence” to point out why exactly Indrani Mukerjea would want to kill his sister.

He said he was certain Indrani “could” kill his sister and was now scared for his own life. The police assured him he would be kept safe till the end of this trial.

Sources said that Mikhail had also given information about four emails exchanged between him and Sheena where she had spoken about the issues she was facing with Indrani. “There were a lot of issues between Sheena and Indrani,” said the police source.

Mikhail’s statement spoke about how Indrani was never like their “mother” and how he gave in to her demand of being known as her brother and how he was made to remain silent after Sheena’s disappearance. Mr Mikhail said their financial condition was not good which is why they depended on Indrani who made it clear that she would stop sending them money if he tried to further probe about Sheena. Mikhail avoided speaking to the press on Friday.

Peter Mukerjea was also called to the police station where their statements were recorded. Both Peter Mukerjea and Mikhail were allowed to leave after recording their statements. They would be questioned again on Saturday. The police are now trying to find the vehicle in Sheena was strangled. Peter Mukerjea’s brother, Gautam, was also called to the police station for questioning. Mikhail was brought in from Guwahati by a team from Mumbai Friday afternoon. The two-member team had also visited Indrani’s  parents.
