Mr Jalagam distributed two-wheelers to the forest staff
Khammam: Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao said that Khammam district had a reputation in Telangana with good forest and the image of the district should be protected by the forest staff.
“Dense forest, variety of species like sambar, spotted deer, black buck and different birds were there in these forests,” he said, adding that it is the responsibility of everyone to protect these property. He said that the students should be made aware on forest wealth and the need of protecting the forest from school age. “Involving the people in forest protection is also necessary,” he observed.
He said that the Central government sanctioned '33 crore to Telangana for tourism development and Khammam district will get Rs 7 crore from these funds. Kinnerasani wildlife sanctuary will be made as tourism hub, he said.
Mr Jalagam distributed two-wheelers to the forest staff in a programme held in wildlife office in Paloncha. He said that house boats will be coming to reservoir and the glass guest house will be revived as part of tourism development.
