Sanjiv Khanna remanded to police custody till August 31
Indrani’s ‘like’ in Khanna’s post
Mumbai: A magistrate court in Bandra on Friday remanded Sanjiv Khanna, former husband of the prime accused Indrani Mukerjea, to police custody till Monday in the Sheena Bora murder case.
Khanna, who was remanded to five-day transit remand by a local court in Kolkata, was taken to Bandra police station after reaching Mumbai as this was the closest police station from the Bandra Magistrate court where he was later produced for remand. The police produced him before the additional chief metropolitan magistrate S.M. Chandagade at about 1.20 pm.
When the magistrate asked Khanna if he had any complaint against the police, he replied in the negative. Police said, Khanna had purportedly shared a photo in mid-2014 with a message “grandchildren are the reward you get for not strangling your teenagers.”This share was liked by Indrani. Police is also looking into financial angle as one of the motives in the murder.
