Chennai: Imagine customers being able to call the waiter’s attention without disturbing other customers. This is actually happening now in Chennai across various restaurants thanks to latest product ‘Nutans R’, which is revolutionising hospitality service. So, next time you walk into a restaurant don’t be surprised if you don’t find a waiter tagging behind you.
To overcome the pain points of the hospitality domain, Strobilanthes ( IT firm into advanced technology solutions) has designed and developed a product “Nutans – R” which is completely wireless and will make the waiter effectively manage his tables/room and thereby keep customers happy.
Nutans R has two parts, a table remote (for calling) at the customer table and a paired watch on the waiter’s wrist. The Table Remote will have four different buttons for service/drink/bill/cancel along with four LEDs. Customers can press the relevant button to get the required service or to cancel a previous request.
Whenever a customer needs a specific service like order, bill, or water he can simply press the respective button on the Calling Remote and the information will be displayed on the Waiter Watch with details of table number, service required and the time of request.
“It is hassle free and I don’t have to run around the restaurant to collect orders. It is a very smart thing and saves a lot of time and energy. This smart device helps me to manage my assigned table in a more efficient way,” said Murugadah (21), who takes orders at Dindigul Thalappakatti, Porur. “In all, 67 outlets across the city are using this particular product, including Saravana Bhavan of K.K. Nagar, and have been giving positive reviews about it. It works on the principle of RF ( Radio Frequency) and covers an areas of 400m (in case of obstacles) -800m (without obstacles). The device was launched since the beginning of this year. Restaurant owners are now happy that customer satisfaction is steadily increasing and thereby increasing brand loyalty,” said, R. Srinivasan, vice-president, (sales and marketing) Strobilanthes.
