Cops who shoot
Around 80 pictures, clicked at various points in the city by traffic policemen
The metro project in Hyderabad is going on at a brisk pace. And Metro Chronicles thru the Lens sponsored by L&T Metro Rail captures the ongoing work on lens. The 7th edition of the series — it included pictures by school students, housewives, senior citizens, etc. — chronicles the ongoing project through the eyes of traffic personnel around the city.
Around 80 pictures, clicked at various points in the city by traffic policemen, were showcased in a photo exhibition at a city art gallery on Saturday. The pictures depicted the construction activity of the Hyderabad Metro rail project. There were almost 6,000 entries from various police stations.
“The main idea behind the project is to focus on the people of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Cyberabad and also give representation to five cultures — the Nizami, British, Telugu, Cosmopolitan and Marwari. We are trying to chronicle 400 years of transportation in Hyderabad. This time it is the metro,” said Sanjay Kapoor, General Manager of L&T Metro Rail.
Jitender, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, inaugurated the exhibition. He said, “Compared to other cities, only 8 per cent of roads are there in Hyderabad. The metro would help people to commute easily but till the time it is finished, it gets difficult for people to commute. The traffic police is doing their bit to help the process and make lives easier.”
The team of the upcoming film Hora Hori were also present to encourage the initiative.
