Vijayawada: The AP Cabinet has decided to establish special courts in the model of Bihar courts, which were also set up for eradicating corruption. The special courts would give final verdicts within one year. The AP Cabinet meeting was held at the CM’s camp office here on Saturday under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Besides, assets would be seized under the new legal system. The CM has directed the officials to frame new guidelines immediately to check corruption. On this occasion, ministers made suggestions to the CM that the appeals on corruption cases should be allowed in high court only for further inquiry.

The state Cabinet has also taken an important decision to invite private universities in the education system. The government will introduce new policy for allowing top 20 private universities from various places across the country. The government would provide land for private universities. The education system would be changed entirely to make AP a knowledge hub.

The AP Cabinet has also taken a decision to cancel the Sompet thermal power project approval and withdrawn its government order. The land of 972 acres, which was allotted for the thermal project in Sompet in Srikakulam district, will be utilised for multi-products industries.
