ChennaiThe opinion poll released by People Studies on Saturday  revealed that most of the political parties in the country were not going to solve issues faced by public. In the survey, 26 per cent said even if a particular political party was voted to power the ruling party will in no way address the issues.

When it comes to political parties with capacity to solve issues,
AIADMK recorded 23.9 per cent followed by DMK with 19.3 per cent, while other parties including DMDK, PMK, BJP and Congress recorded less than five per cent.

About 20 per cent of the respondents rated bad roads and inadequate supply of drinking water as the major issues haunting them. As per the survey, more than 67 per cent of participants said officers execute projects only after taking bribe and eight per cent maintained that still there are honest officers.

The survey also pulled down the credentials of Election Commission pointing out that 45 per cent of the respondents felt that poll officials were favouring only the ruling party.  The survey  also had a question on administration and performance of Tamil Nadu  for which most respondents expressed that the administration was good whenever Jayalalithaa’s was at the helm of affairs.

To another query on the performance of O. Panneerselvam as Chief Minister, around 32 per cent respondents said his administration was not up to the mark. “The public had  expressed that Tamil Nadu government was not performing well in the absence of AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa,” Rajanayagam, director of ‘People Studies’, said adding that schemes like free distribution of mixer, grinder and fans, Amma Canteens and marriage assistance were popular in the AIADMK regime.
