Police can now watch over abids from police station
A private interview room has also been provided for complainants who want to file petitions privately
Hyderabad: The new model police station at Abids here enables cops to sit inside the station and observe areas under their jurisdiction virtually.
Forty high resolution CCTV cameras installed by traders have been integrated into a mammoth screen inside the new building.
Looking like a brand new corporate office the new police is covered with CCTV cameras and sound recording equipment to ensure transparency.
A private interview room has also been provided for complainants who want to file petitions privately.
Inaugurating the new station, Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma said that all police stations in Hyderabad will soon be renovated in the same way and that enough funds have been allocated by the government.
"All police stations are being renovated like this. Rs 20 crore has been allotted to Hyderabad police and Rs 45 crore to Cyberabad police for this. Additionally, Rs 58.5 crore have been given to Hyderabad Commissionerate, and Rs 25 crore for Cyberabad to purchase new equipment," the DGP said.
The new model police stations would have a citizen friendly atmosphere, the DGP said.
The DGP added that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao wanted the department to create a friendly atmosphere, and as per the CM's decision, all police stations in the state would be renovated like corporate offices in a phased manner.
