Two teen girls tie rakhi on neighbour’s snake in Karimnagar

Indu, a 16-year old Inter student and Shravani, 12, said they were happy to celebrate the festival in a unique manner

KARIMNAGAR: Two teenage girls of Huzurabad celebrated Rakhsha Bandhan by tying a rakhi to a snake that was found at a snake catcher’s residence.

Korapalli Indu and her younger sister Shravani of Mamillawada in the town decided to tie the rakhi to the snake which was found in the house of their neighbour Mohd Afzal, a tailor by profession and a reptile catcher. Afzal helped them tie the rakhi to the snake.

Indu, a 16-year old Inter student and Shravani, 12, said they were happy to celebrate the festival in a unique manner. They said that they were not scared as Afzal was familiar with reptiles and had removed its fangs.
