Another Volvo bus up in flames
The fire started in the air-conditioning unit

Anantapur: Passengers of a Volvo bus travelling to Kozhikode in Kerala from Hyderabad escaped unhurt after the vehicle was gutted in a fire near Thimmampeta in Garladinne mandal on NH 44 in Anantapur district early on Sunday. The fire started in the air-conditioning unit and engulfed the bus, which was carrying 37 passengers.
Garladinne police said the driver K. Tyagaraju of the Kallada Travels bus (KA-01 AD 414) noticed smoke coming from his steering control unit near Thimmampeta. Upon noticing fire in the AC unit he immediately offloaded the passengers.
Civil supplies minister Paritala Sunitha who was on her way to Anantapur from Vijayawada stopped on seeing the burning bus and oversaw relief measures.
