Bengaluru: 200 Ola drivers protest, demand salaries, perks
'When we attached our cars, Ola assured us a lot of facilities and incentives,' said an Ola driver
BENGALURU: Around 200 Ola cab drivers protested in front of the company office in Murugeshpalya on Monday, demanding the immediate release of their salaries and incentives that have been withheld for the last few days.
They alleged that the company has not released their assured incentives for the last one month. They said that Ola lured the drivers and the passengers with “offers”, and urged the transport department to intervene and solve the problem.
A driver said that Ola, after getting control of the city’s cab business, is now going back on its promises. “When we attached our cars first, the company assured us a lot of facilities, timely release of money and incentives. But now, it is going back on all those promises,” he said.
“The passengers are overcharged. Drivers are exploited as there are no shift timings,” he said. The police rushed to the spot and dispersed the agitators.
