South African woman was just a carrier of drugs
Mosiea was carrying 793 grams of suspected cocaine in her stomach when she arrived at the airport
Hyderabad: South African woman Mosiea Moosa did not know who would be receiving her at the RGI Airport.
She was told by a member of the gang who had given her the drugs that someone would meet her at the airport and will take her to a hotel in Hyderabad, where she had to stay for a week and take out the drugs by defecating. As she was caught by the Narcotic Control Bureau the gangsters who was outside the airport must have escaped, said an NCB official.
Mosiea was carrying 793 grams of suspected cocaine in her stomach when she arrived at the airport. The doctors at the Osmania GH have taken out 52 packed drug capsules from her body.
NCB superintendent Dinesh Chouhan said the woman was just a carrier working for a global gang. The gang has presence in other metros. The woman started working for the gang after she met one of them online.
“She is just a carrier working for a pittiance. The peddler just told her that the receivers will meet her after she comes out of the airport and will take her to a hotel,” said Mr Chouhan.
The receiver, who was waiting outside the airport when the NCB caught the woman, must have had her details including photos. The receiver was asked to approach her with code words. She will know who the person is only after meeting him, the officials said. The NCB is yet to confirm the origin and destination of the drug. They said the gang selected Hyderabad just to receive it and would have taken it to other parts of the country later.
Mosiea tried to smuggle the drugs by concealing it in her private parts and stomach and was caught at RGIA on Sunday.
She had arrived in a flight from Dubai. Due to her suspicious moves the officials caught her and shifted her to OGH to recover the drug sachets.
