Parvathy Nair, who debuted in Mollywood with Poppins, is excited about her role opposite Vijay Babu in her upcoming film. The shooting of the untitled film, being directed by John, is currently underway at the outskirts of Bellary in Karnataka. The actress is over the moon for being a part of the movie, which according to her, is a never-before-attempt in the Malayalam industry.
Tipped as an edge-of-the-seat road thriller, the film has Vijay and Parvathy playing a couple, with a slew of unexpected incidents in their journey forming the crux of the story. The film is in its last leg of shooting and the pretty actress terms the experience as the most scary and memorable ever in her career. She says, “It feels really good to be a part of an out-and-out action film.”
“Rarely are thriller films shot in such a lavish scale in Malayalam. Most of the time, the crew shot using four to five cameras simultaneously, a first in my career. I was part of stunt sequences which involved vehicle chases, car flips, etc. I felt my life was at a risk while shooting a few scenes. The humid and dusty atmosphere at the place added to the woes.”
However, Parvathy says that she was keen not to rely on body doubles. “I had no practice neither did I rehearse my scenes, but read the script thoroughly to know what was required from me. The person who was supposed to act as my duplicate had to sit idle. At the end of the day, I felt gratified,” she smiles.
She feels that the experience gained from the film has made her a daredevil and that she’s now confident enough to take up any sort of daring sequences. All praise for her co-star Vijay Babu, Parvathy says she learnt a lot from him. She says, “Almost 90 per cent of the film has both of us sharing screen space. He is a brilliant actor and one of the most knowledgeable persons I have ever met.”
The actress, who has put on a little weight for the film, however, says she can’t reveal more about her character in the movie. Parvathy, who has been living in Bengaluru for a long time, now has plans to move to Chennai as she feels most of the offers are coming from Tamil films. “I feel I’m getting more recognition from Tamil films. But, I’m always open to Malayalam movies and will take up interesting projects that come my way,” she concludes.
