Roopal Tyagi of Sapne Suhane Ladakapn Ke is all set to enter Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a wild card entry this weekend. The actress, who has trained under Shiamak Davar and assisted Pony Verma, has choreographed for actors like Vidya Balan, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan among others. We caught up with her for a chat about her show. Excerpts:

What made you agree to do a wildcard entry on Jhalak instead of opting to join right from the start?
I was busy shooting down south since the last few months. Luckily, as soon as I wrapped up shoot there I got a call for JDJ wild card. It was perfect timing and I love dancing. So I took it up.

Having been a choreographer yourself, did you feel you had an advantage over others?
Not really. Because I left choreography eight years ago. Now the expectations from me have risen, and physically, my body will take a lot of time to get used to such heavy-duty activity.

So then do you think the others who have been around right from the beginning are better placed?
Yes absolutely. By now their bodies are used to so much dancing. And I am only getting back to it after years.

What do you have to say about your co-contestants?
They have been on the show for a long time now and have really honed their skills. By now the audiences already have their favourites. So it’s a tough competition for me.

Tell us a bit about how you are preparing.
Rishi is my choreographer and he is very hard working. We have limited time on our hands, but we are giving it our best shot. Fingers crossed.
