Atul Anjan apologises to Sunny Leone supporters
‘I apologise but I don't stands for such vulgar advertisements’
Kolkata: Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Atul Anjan on Thursday apologised for the controversial statement that he made at a public rally in Uttar Pradesh, claiming that actor Sunny Leone's condom advertisements promote rapes in the country.
"Supporters of porn and Sunny Leone are raising objections, I apologise but I don't stands for such vulgar advertisements" Anjan told ANI.
He said Sunny Leone is projecting vulgarity, and I oppose it, but respect others who have different views.
"Advertisements should be sober, Sunny Leone's ads are vulgar. I am not anti-condom, but the language used in the ad is not right", Anjan added.
Anjan had earlier stated that Leone's condom ads promotes sexuality and are responsible for the rise in rape cases in the nation.
