Cyberabad Cops intensify ragging probe

Police suspect that all students are tight lipped about the incident

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police has intensified investigation into the reports of alleged ragging at the CMR Engineering College which led to the suicide of first year ECE student V. Sainath. Nearly four special teams formed to probe the incident, have started investigation at Kazipet and Medchal. The police is questioning students at a secret location.

The cops questioned the students staying at the apartment where Sainath used to stay. Sainath shared a double bedroom flat with four of his friends. None of them disclosed any facts about ragging. Cops also questioned some senior students in connection with ragging. Police said that they have not received the case file from Kazipet.

“We have formed four special teams to probe the incident. We are questioning the students and Sainath's classmates, but none of them are willing to speak,” said Balanagar DCP Srinivas Reddy.

Police suspect that all students are tight lipped about the incident fearing seniors and their careers. However, the management maintained that no ragging incidents have taken place at the college.

V. Sainath, a first year student of ECE at the CMR Engineering College committed suicide allegedly due to ragging by jumping in front of a moving train.
