Indrani and Khanna ‘friends’ on Facebook since 2013
Sanjeev Khanna was an active participant on Indrani’s timeline
Mumbai: The Facebook pages of Indrani Khanna and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna ratify the reports that the two were indeed back to being ‘friends’.
Friends and sources in Kolkata had said that the duo had resumed contact and held multiple meetings after the April 2012 rendezvous in Mumbai. This is contrary to claims made by Khanna’s counsel Salim Rahman that Khanna had admitted that “he was in Mumbai on April 24 and 25 but the relationship between him and Indrani had grown bitter afterwards". But Khanna’s Facebook page punctured holes in the lawyer’s claim.
In an online platform where nothing is private anymore, one can easily find Indrani on the list of Khanna’s friends on Facebook. Even Indrani's timeline activities dating from 2013 show Sanjeev as an active participant. In two very visible instances, there is an open exchange of friendly pleasantries between the two on the popular social medium.
An interesting fact is that Indrani’s public profile does not show any online activity between the years 2009 and 2012. However the former media executive seems to have been more prudent and had refrained from responding to Khanna’s posts on the public platform.
On scanning through Indrani’s timeline which is visible to the public, one can see posts that show Sanjeev as one of the first few to have ''liked' photos that Indrani had uploaded on Facebook. The photos include a photo of Vidhie as a child that Indrani posted in August 2013 and another is a selfie of Vidhie and Indrani in March 2013. Incidentally, even Peter Mukherjea has 'liked' the same selfie on Indrani's profile.
Khanna’s online activity may be inferred as his weakness for his daughter, a possible motive for his involvement in the Sheena Bora murder case. But what continues to be a mystery is how did the two become ‘friends’ again after a decade long separation after an acrimonious divorce and custody battle for their daughter Vidhie, which Khanna lost. It would be also be interesting to know when and who decided to reach out and send that ‘friend request’ on Facebook.
