Indrani Mukerjea is brought at Khar police station in Mumbai

Hyderabad: Bone samples from the exhumed body remains, suspected to be that of television tycoon Indrani Mukherjea’s daughter Sheena Bora, will be tested at city-based Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD).

The suspected remains were exhumed about four days ago by the local police from Raigad near Mumbai. They have been sent to the CDFD here for DNA profiling by Mumbai police.

Sources confirmed that the bone samples will be tested at the CDFD. However, the type of technique that will be employed by the CDFD couldn’t be learnt. The simple autosomal DNA profiling can be performed to ascertain if the remains are that of Sheena since DNA is preserved in bones for centuries together.
But if the bones are completely burnt, it would be difficult to prise out anything with the  available technology.
