New Delhi:  Ex Servicemen who are on a protest demanding the OROP implementation on their terms will be holding a mega rally on September 12 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

They criticised the Centre on Friday for not coming out with a clear proposal to resolve the deadlock on the implementation of the one-rank-one-pension (OROP) scheme. "We are sitting here on protest for approval of the definition of OROP, not for money. We are here for our prestige," said Group Captain (Retired) VK Gandhi.

"Government has to decide whether they want to listen to us or not," he added.

Gandhi also said that if they (government) give the OROP once in five years, it would be a 'one rank five pensions' which defeats their basic definition.

"The government has not consulted us from yesterday and there has been no dialogue with them on this," said General (Retired) Satbir Singh, the chairman of the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM).
