Hyderabad: Telangana archakas on Friday called off their over week-long strike after the TS government agreed to resolve all their issues by September 15. Endowments minister A. Indrakaran Reddy held talks with the striking archakas at Secretariat and promised to resolve all their long-pending demands by September 15 and urged them to call off their strike.
The archakas responded positively and agreed to resume duties from Saturday. The 6,000-odd archakas and temple staff have been demanding salaries and perks on par with government employees, regularisation of 2000 odd temporary employees and payment of salaries through government treasury. Mr Reddy informed them that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was in favour of their demands and had instructed them to sort out the issue.
