Acid attack victim dies in Chennai

The doctors confirmed that she was dead due to infection

Tirupati: Jareena Begum, an acid attack victim by her ex-husband, who was working as a lecturer in degree college, before attack died in Apollo Hospital while taking treatment at Chennai on Saturday. The death of Jareena gained importance as it had happened on Teachers' Day.

Ms Jareena succumbed to burns when her lungs and some veins were infected badly. The doctors confirmed that she was dead due to infection which was spread vital organs in the body.

It may be noted that the Jareena who was working as Hindi lecturer in a degree college in Piler, was attacked by her ex-husband after getting divorce from him on July 15 at Kaaluru cross near Chandragiri while she was returning from her college. She had been taking treatment in Chennai at Vanagara for two months.
