Hyderabad: A PIL has been moved before the High Court challenging the inaction of the Telangana government in deciding the minimum support price to cotton and other crops.
Social activist K. Karunakar Reddy from Adilabad district moved the PIL urging the court to direct the respondents to fix the MSP by duly considering the cost of cultivation and other parameters.
He said that the Centre had recently issued guidelines to prescribe the minimum support price and constituted the Commission for Agriculture Costs and Price. He said the government’s MSP was contrary to the recommendations of the commission.
