Hyderabad: Protesting the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the three-day meeting of the RSS at New Delhi, members of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board said here on Saturday that Modi has to keep in mind that he is the PM of not just one particular religious group.

AIMPLB working general secretary Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani, secretary Maulana Khaled Saifullah Rahmani and members Maulana Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani and Maulana Abdul Raheem were addressing a press conference here in the city along with Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board  members were in the city as part of the “Deen aur Dastoor Bachav Tehrik” (Save Religion and Constitution Campaign), a country-wide campaign launched by the Board.

Maulana Wali Rahmani and Maulana Sajjad Nomani said, “We can meet the Prime Minister to register our protest. But before we meet the Prime Minister it is for him to realise that the government should have no religion or culture according to the Constitution.”

“Will the government allow us to perform Namaaz at the Rajpath in New Delhi but Mr Modi sat on the Rajpath for promoting Yoga. What kind of message does he want to send to the people,”  they asked.

They said that there was a threat to the Islamic faith as efforts were being made to impose a particular culture through Yoga, Surya Namaskar and Vande Mataram.

They said that Muslims are disturbed at the development of such forces that are bent upon distracting the community from its fundamental faith. life.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board  leaders said that Article 28 of the Constitution promises a secular state to citizens and that some of the government’s recent steps were against its spirit.

The ‘Save Religion and Constitution Campaign’ has been receiving support from Dalits and BCs of the country. The grandson of Ambedkar and the Lingayats have already joined the campaign.
